Liposuction Average Cost
No health insurance will cover any elective surgery – and any kind of cosmetic surgery qualifies as elective surgery in their eyes. Elective surgery is different from reconstructive surgery, like a skin graft after a third degree burn. Some health insurance companies will cover reconstructive surgery costs. But with a liposuction under chins, you're on your own. Because you're the one footing the bill, you need to keep in mind everything that makes up your final chin liposuction cost.
The Surgery Itself
This is, not surprisingly, the biggest factor in determining chin liposuction costs. Because you are going for get a nip and tuck in a small area of the body, you are going to pay a lot less than someone who wants their thighs or belly done. However, you are still looking at a four figure procedure, no matter what cosmetic surgeon you go to. There's no harm in shopping around for a good price, but you still want to check the surgeon's credentials and reputation.
Testing, Testing
In order for your body to be safe and for the cosmetic surgeon's career to be just as safe, several tests may need to be done. Part of the reason for extensive blood testing is to be sure that you don’t have an immunodeficiency problem or that you can tolerate anesthesia. If you are a man, then you can subtract a pregnancy test from your final chin liposuction costs.
You may also have to get a full physical. This is actually encouraged for more reasons than just to see if you are a good candidate for cosmetic surgery. It can help be a blueprint for your health goals for the rest of your life. However, you will most likely have to pay for the physical on top of your chin liposuction costs.
Time Out
Although some people feel normal only a week after surgery, most people need at least two weeks and some need an entire month. You will not be able to leave your home during this recovery time, as you will be too groggy and feel as if you have the flu. You have to take the time off work or school. This is the next biggest factor in determining your final chin liposuction costs.
If you live by yourself, you will not be able to drive and will either have to beg rides off of friends and family, take a taxi or have your supplies delivered to you. You need to factor your transportation (and pizza delivery) into your chin liposuction costs.
